Curse of the Pink Eye

I'm sure most overseas students with sinus and allergy problems hate it when their eyes gets itchy n their nose gets clogged up upon arrival on Malaysian soil. Blame it on the humidity n the dust!

Eversince i got home frm Moscow my nose has been blocked 24/7 (pretty much the same situation everytime i'm in Malaysia for the past 20 yrs of my life) and my eyes started to itch like mad.

At 1st i thought it was some normal allergic reaction and i could not be bothered bout it. then it got worse.. with sticky discharges in the morning, difficulty in opening eyelids, occasional blurry vision and of course.. the icky red eye. Thats when i self diagnosed myself with conjunctivitis.

Since i tot this was one of my usual hyper allergic reaction towards dust or what not i started using antiallergic/antiinflammatory eyedrops (Naphazoline Hydrochloride+Pheniramine Maleate to be precise). It did not work. Crossed out allergic conjunctivitis from the differential list.

Sick of the annoying itchiness, i got tired of playing around with self-diagnosing and went to the doctor to confirm it. Doctor confirms the conjunctivitis. Prescribed me with antibiotics and antimicrobial eyedrops. So apparently he tot im having bacterial conjunctivitis.

Applied the Colircusi Gentadexa eyedrops and it soothed the itchiness! for a while that is.. then again now i'm pretty certain its bacterial conjunctivitis. Bacterial conjunctivitis usually recovers within 5 days without medication.. but im having it for bout.. 10 days? better to be safe than sorry :)
